inevitability

I can see myself veering towards a three act structure
And I am sensing huge resistance
The horror of inevitability

who gets through the tuxedo gate?

will it just be cognitive

Will I be allowed to make what I want?
Or me?
Or me indeed..(me?)
Who chooses in this tuxedo world of ours?

But will my film stop the killing?
Stop the torment, the abuse?
Or just make my brain and heart alligned in visual and cognitive connection.

filmmaking - positive ball rolling

OK missy it’s time to have an upbeat attitude
it’s time to remember that time you stopped worrying by the act of doing
what is the process of making feature film no. 3?
I wrote the script and I wrote it from the heart
I wrote it with an editor
Yes, a script editor, before I turned the camera on.
Sometimes the process was akin to intense psychoanalysis
but I loved it (each stage of the way is about enjoying the process)

the analysis of film

film analysis

I film akin to the same process of psychoanalysis?
a darkened place where you attempt to lay your soul bare.
and how you place things, or edit, and the very tone you use – All is very interesting/revealing.

But films that make it to the market are so often about the same things.

So that films that maybe explore a lone woman in her sixties thinking about rain will be laughed out of existence.

I suppose a difference is in both practices’ dissemination – the intrusion of the market place.
And meanwhile the films that get analyzed on a large scale tend to be the ones in the market place.

Think of all the dreams we have yet to have.

a thought on writing the pitch

film drawing february 13 - the pitch

The square took over
- 13th February 2009
The reference point – no not reference point – the frame
The frame, the thing within which I could put all my ideas and they would be – they are enclosed.
giving limits, a certain order.
And I crave escape from having to limit things.

But that’s exactly what we want in a pitch.
Not a clutter of words and thoughts thrown at us
(dada, bravado, nuisance, solidarity ….)
But a plan, a story, a framework – once upon a time.

A defined moment – the day started out so well, then I read emails.
A host of possibilities in a set moment – I couldn’t open the door.
A moment of climax with vibration – it says yes.

Apologies, these words don’t work out so well, or maybe they do, I like them.
